I have no idea where I want to go today with a post.  I just know I need to sit down and write!  It’s Thursday and I haven’t written all week.  I’m not even editing as I type like I usually do. I’m just writing. Why?  Because I have to put some words on a page! (I did go back and edit – too much red!!! 🙂 ).

That’s what’s been rattling around in my brain since Sunday. (Listen to the sermon here.) Lots and lots of words.  Words to write, think, say, do.  Words about words, the Word, and so much more! I’ve got a lot I want to write about, but finding the time seems to have really been an issue this week.  This is where blogging gets hard – it’s not about finding the time but making it.  Again the difference is in the words.

Words mean a lot, and make all the difference!

They can help, hurt, and heal. They can motivate us, defeat us, or teach us.

They can also cause a lot of confusion and strife.  Definitions are so important to communication.  So is context. I’ll be posting about this more in the future.  But for today, I’m just going to take a lesson from Ecclesiastes 5:2 and “let my words be few.”

Check out this Hawk Nelson video for more on Words and have a blessed day!

  1. There is no doubt about it, Words are powerful!

  2. Actually, this post leaves me with a song in my head. Have you heard of The Real Group? It’s an a cappella group and they are amazing. But they have this one song called “Words” and now I have the opening line stuck in my head. Have a listen and let me know what you think. Ignore their bored faces, they seem to be phoning in this particular performance.

  3. “Wonderful words of life–beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.” That’s what popped in my head reading this post.

  4. You are so correct. Words can help, hurt or heal. You seemed to have done a good jobs with your words today. 🙂

  5. I love words! That’s why I love to write!

  6. I love that song! I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately too . . . the importance of thinking before speaking, etc. Thanks for the post!

  7. Yes, Jesus said that we would not live on bread alone, but by the His words only shall we live! Love this post and the song as well! That song is a hit here in Central FL. Thanks for this refreshing read!

  8. Crystal, this is a great message, short but powerful. Thank you for sharing! Great song by the way. 🙂
